The Lurie College of Education at San Jose State University is a professional community of students who are commpassionate professionals who interact in ethical ways and are mindful of our roles and responsibilities in a democratic society.
During my time at San Jose State University, I focused on developing key skills that would allow me to focus on becoming a lifelong learner.
I spent a lot of my free time teaching, weightlifting, and reading!
Experience
Spearheading differentiated instruction to meet all students' needs.
I developed individualized lesson plans that supported diverse learners with different learning styles. I also developed and cultulivated a rich learning environment by capitalizing on diverse engagement strategies through emphasizing social and emotional domains of development. :)

Individualized Education Plans
I supported student learning objectives through personalized and small group instruction. In addition, I created a flexible learning environment that allowed students to think freely without the confines of a traditional desk.
Learn through Play!
I created and implemented creative daily lesson plans to meet the needs of all students with diverse learning styles.
Girl Empowerment!
I created an American Sign Language program that taught fundamental signs. I also organized a Girls Empowerment course teaching independence; corresponded with and invited to Google X to discuss women in technology.

Parental Depression
This paper discusses the seriousness and importance depression has on raising children.
This paper goes over the effects of depression in the different domains of development and the long-term effects.
Children's Understanding of Non-literal Language
This paper evaluates the comprehension abilities of non-literal language use of two school aged children.
This paper centers on how theory of mind, conversational and scalar implications, and Gricean Maxims affect a childβs ability to understand non-literal language.
Parental Incarceration
This paper discusses parental incarceration and the affects it has on the whole family system,
This paper indicates that parents who are incarcerated are at risk for more than lising precious years of their lives, but will also face depression, negative long-term effects with childre and other family members, and loss of family system.
